As we promised to keep you updated whenever BSNL expands it’s network, we are now here with a good news to people who live in Nagpur, Maharastra & Panaji, Goa.
BSNL has started its EVDO service in these two cities long ago, but now it has enabled EVDO network (2.4 Mbps Network) from past one months or two.
A member by user name mmmishea from our forum (who was recently promoted moderation squad) has got good experience with EVDO in Nagpur and has posted his speed report over here. So, kindly have a look at it if you are from Nagpur especially.
Thanks to our forum members for updating us in this thread.
If BSNL starts EVDO service (be it CDMA 1x or EVDO), please kindly inform us in that thread which helps others like it does in this post.

BSNL is the first to roll out EVDO Internet in India. The EVDO was launched unofficially back in September 2007 by BSNL and now, after the establishing better EVDO network, BSNL has started to launch officially in most parts of the country. Since it is a very new service, the official information is very little. So we decided to set up a unofficial portal with user-based information and more. So we hope this site helps you to get information regarding BSNL's New EVDO service. Keep visiting the site and dont forget to register in the

BSNL has started EVDO in Bokaro Steel City in Jharkhand. It had already started Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Dhanbad earlier. I am using Nic card and now the EVDO is fantastic with good speed. I love it. But can any one tell, when BSNL is to start the Roaming facility?my mail id is skmahapatro2002@yahoo.com
Thanks for this on front Page. EVDO is really an evolution for the people who needed internet but were either not able to get that due to landline non availibility or were sticked to slow gprs. Evdo sertailnly is better.
i want to buy evdo data card, and i m living in vadodara, polytechnique campus, near shastri bridge, vadodara. so should i get coverage there or not and if i want to use this evdo card in Maharashtra the should i get coverage there also?
BSNL has started EVDO in Durgapur, westbengal

But only 1x service with 144KBPS is available with unlimited monthly charge of Rs.250/- only.
Initial amount to purchase requires Rs. 3193/- for EVDO compatible PCMCIA / USB modem.
USB modem model: ZTE AC8700 which is back compatible to CDMA 1x network
BSNL is going to launch 2.4Mbps EV-DO service (3G Tech.)very shortly (at Durgapur).
I have purchased one CDMA1x from Asansol on 04.02.2009 for use at my temporary residence at A-Zone ,Durgapur. They assured that it will run good at Durgapur. But I see that the signal level is very poor .Only one or two lines appearing. It hardly get connected. After trying so many times it connects occasionally but pages are not opening. Is there any chance that signal will improve. Also it is showing roaming signal. Can anyone tell will it work or not.Whatis that roaming signal.Anybody using it at Durgapur can kindly give some advice. If any BSNL authority at Durgapur will be kind enough to through some light on this issue. I am very much in need of a clerification on this issue.Waiting comments from any generous fellow user.
i’m using this for more than a month at durgapur, I dont have any such bad experience at all. some times it goes down but i’m quite satisfied with the service. My signal level is good and I get average 15kbps download speed all the time. what more we can ask for??
Before I was using BSNL Broad band with telephone connection with max download speed upto 42 kbps. Now I am using BSNL EVDO card. This is having better download speed upto 100kbps some times. Im happy for this. But the problem is this works only in bangalore. As we know all other networks like airtel, reliance, tata indicom having the speciaty of browsing internet anywhere in india at same cost of local. So just i want to know when BSNL will start this faciality.
can anybody in southgoa, fatorda to be exact, tell me the speed of the BSNL EVDO card for internet use?is it fast?how mant kbps/mbps you get?
Comment by S K SAHU on February 8, 2009:Only one or two lines appearing. It hardly get connected. After trying so many times it connects occasionally but pages are not opening….
As per I know only two bsnl towers at city centre & at chitralaya are present which can provide cdma 1X coverage along with GSM. other towers don’t have this facility. signal strength with one or two vertical bars are sufficient but the speed will fluctuate between say 11kbps to 155kbps as average.
Try to find better position for ur device by moving slightly right or left for better reception.
Now bsnl is working hard to upgrade their towers/units to provide 3G facility as soon as possible.

Previously it was getting connected and opening slowly as per its margi but now it is not at all connecting.
