I am getting download rate 0 (bps) many time...!!!

Hi,

I am from Surat, Gujarat and EVDO tower is next to my society. I am getting 3-4 tower band in my connector UI.

Download works gr8 (almost 75 to 150 kpbs download speed) when i m able to open link. But while I try to surf some websites it says timeout. The observation says that if on connector Download rate shows in bps then its not allow to surf. If download rate goes in to KBPS then only surfing is possible.

Most of the time if happens that download rate remains 0 bps and upload rate too.

Why such thing is happening? Do you think I visit exchange ppl and ask for some fix?

Do you have a torrent running on your machine when you cannot access these sites? If so you may want to try turning it off and seeing if you can access the sites again.

Some of us have experienced a dramatic loss in speed when we had our torrent software running irrespective of the signal strength. The minute we turned our torrent software off, all the sites started opening very fast.

I have never used torrent in my life as i don't need to use it. One observation I got is; may be heat factor is working for it. If modem runs for long time it happens. I used to keep on logged in 20 X 7 .

I think this problem is in Gujarat circle ...as I am also facing the same problem..
I have also found out that..no ping can be done during this period when 0 bps is shown as speed..
And if you try to disconnect & then reconnect ...I got following message:
"The remote computer did not respond."
BTW..I am always having 4 bars as signal strength & used to have alleast 1 mbps speed just 3-4 days back..
This means that..problem is with central computer..
Solution is: we all have to call to respective regional area officer for help & also to central office in vadodara..

I faced the same issue twice... But that was because of continous download.

Suddenly I was not able to download anything it showed 0 Kbps. I switched it off. gave it some rest for few hours... and allas... it started again in full swing. Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register in our forum for free by clicking here to see images.
