I am not very sure of the procedure but this is from personal experience.
I bought the device in bangalore and am now presently using it in Pune.
I got it configured at the model colony customer care service centre. Initially they were reluctant to even listen to me. But after a few phone calls the lady discovered that evdo was available on roaming. i got the device reconfigured and the procedure is more or less as follows
- get a ten digit number
- install the roaming prl into the device
- go to settings and at the user name box enter your ten digit number and enter @aaabg.in
eg. XXXXXXXXXX@aaabg.in
the passoword is the number it self.
bg stands for bangalore.....so try some combinations using the letter of the city where you got the device from. For instance vadodara is vd and therefore username would be
xxxxxxxxxx@aaavd.in
try the above and post your results
yup this pretty much worked for me.
I had got the 10 digit no when i bought the EVDO back in Sept 2009; its the std code for ur region + 7 digit no.
Like i got it from Guwahati so mine was 361*******. And then went to the BSNL office here in Gurgaon, where my no was transformed to "361*******@AAAKO.IN" - KO as in Kolkotta.
N all the prl was installed in the BSNL office itself, then i just had to plug n surf

Hi
Has anyone got new numbers starting with 9 ???
I was on roaming in Gurgaon and im not able to connect since a week now. When i call up the Cust Suppt they tell me that i would need 10 didgit no starting with 9 (but i was using this roaming service for the last one month wothput any problems). I had a 10 digit no but it didnt started with 9.
So i call up my home exchage (Guwahati) and they tell me that nos starting with 9 have not been rolled out yet (n probably will take another 2 months time). So im in a fix and dono wat to do

Also because i would have to pay the bill for this 2 months (2 X 720) is there any option to suspend the services for only these two months when i am not able to use the service?
I got the 10 digit number starting with 9 in bangalore
