Coverage in Hyderabad
Latest News: BSNL Tower in KPHB 5th Phase is now equipped with EVDO. But they say if you are in Ground Floor, it does not work well. It seems like it will work well only if you are sitting under the tower. That doesn't sound good.
Sudheer HI, I have just spoken to a gentleman who works in BSNL and is dedicated to EVDO department. He said 2.4mbps is only theoretical, practical speeds vary between 200kbps to 800kbps depending on number of simultaneous users connected to the tower. Following are the areas where EVDO is available in Hyderabad (the BSNL employee read out the areas with patience, thanks to him): Motinagar Kushaiguda Madhapur Ameerpet Charminar Jeedimetla Durganagar Jubilee Hills Saifabad Malakpet Gacchibowli Lingampally Barkatpura Kawadiguda Padma Rao Nagar Secunderabad Tarnaka Saroornagar Yerragadda Prakash nagar Mehidipatnam Gowliguda Sainikpuri Golconda Mahindra hills film nagar ABIDS Regards, Sudheer |

Spoke to DE in KPHB 5th Phase BSNL office. Work is in progress, should be available in 1-2months.

Hi,
I stay at Tarnaka. Here there is no EVDO siganl. I am using this device from last four months and no EVDO signal. Hi members.I bought an EV-DO AC8700 1 month ago.I reside near charminar i.e almost 1.5 kms away from charminar but yet i have only two bars and the pblm is with the downloading speed.it varies from 20-40 kbps for IDM 10kbps in torrents.I own a BSNL landline.Should i go and get canceled my EV-DO and take plans on landline.Plz help i want to download files with mush better speed.
By the way where is the tower in charminar for ev-do?????? |

Hello folks,
I am using BSNL EVDO from october 2008 onwards, I went to different places with my laptop but not even in single place i got EVDO signal. I checked these areas, Motinagar Erragadda Ameerpet Secunderabad Kothapeta Nagole Dilsukhnagar Bsnl people are telling me to wait for one more month so that we get EVDO in some areas, sometimes they even link with 3G launch. I dont know these BSNL people charge EVDO rental eventhough we get NIC speeds. regards Phani |
