Need Help to Reconfigure EVDO Device

Hi All,

As per the network coverage thread, CDMA tower in Ecity is EVDO enabled. I tested my device inside Ecity next to BSNL tower but I didnt get any EVDO signal. May be the tower was not radiating EV-DO signals at that point of time or its still in the test phase at that tower. (I got 4 bars in CDMA 1X)

Correct me if I am wrong, my understanding is that when we take our device for reconfiguration, the JTO as part of reconfiguration process runs ZTE PST terminal software and writes some settings in our device.

Someone from Ernakulam has uploaded the software and manual on internet(I came to know about this from EVDO forum). But this manual only talks about device settings in ernakulam region.

The nearest BSNL exchnage to my place is in Bommasandra/Ecity but the BSNL staff there donot know how to reconfigure this device. So, if I can get what settings need to be changed I can do it myself.

I dont know whether you have ZTE PST terminal. But if you have one then you just need to read your device settings and let me know what values are there in Primary and secondary channel.

Evenif there is no availability of EVDO signal in my area and I reconfigur my device, I am sure that I would still be able to use CDMA 1X with reconfigured device, right?. I think there is a hybrid settings that can be enabled.

Well i was also thinking about possible reconfiguration settings. But it would only be possible if At least Two People from Same city who have successfully reconfigured their EV-DO devices and running device in EV-DO mode, Upload their individual device's PST setting file(in ini format) and PRL file in .prl format. Please people who want to co-operate for re-configuration help, please help me, coz i want to find out that does PRL and PST settings change Tower to Tower in a same city. After confirming these details, i might be able to help in the Reconfiguration of the EV-DO devices in ur city for EV-DO. I think the main culprit is the Preference setting in the prl. RL editor shows same preference for both 1x and high data rate signals(EV-DO). I also Request Coimbatoore people to Upload the same settings. Also needed will be the older settings from Bangalore, from the people who have not upgraded their settings for evdo. Its time to understand things with collaborative effort.

I dont think that the settings differ from tower to tower as the same device works with same settings in all tower areas within a city.

I need someone from bangalore who has got his device reconfigured for EVDO to use this software and read channel settings in the device.

BSNL promised to get EV-DO in Dehradun in next three months.. if that true then i guess it will be the next gen thing in BB... and i am getting 3 towers in 1X mode... and speeds are not good Guests cannot see images in the messages. i am not getting any speed. that mean 0.0 kbps in download.. what should i do ? and that too with 3 bars ?

dude your device is not configuard propary thats the only prob i can think of
