@ kaniska, are u using EV-DO ?

BSNL EV-DO's IP starts from 218. My IP is 218.248.68.162 and charly555's IP is 218.248.68.63

but urs is: 117.199.240.86 ?

the guys tell me that its evdo and u may have read fron the cd u got with the modem about the led indication.. yellow led blinkin means 1x and led of means evdo.. mine blinks slowly.. and this colour is close to be called yellow or green.. hi hi.. well i get upto 50KB download from rapidshare...

well gigacore, whats the speed that u get over there.. did the bsnl guys come to ur house or so in order to configure it??? how many cd s did u get?? i got one with the device, a mini cd.. any other???

^ congrats it means EVDO then... but few calculation says the EV-DO's top download speed is 300 KBps...

Mine is yellow blink and its slow, which means CDMA 1x..

FYI: Slow blink (either yellow or green) indicates there is network (either CDMA 1x or EVDO) and fast blink indicates, there is network but its under search.

@ charly555, nope, I bought the device from the exchange and installed it myself. And even i have got one mini CD, manual, extension cable and zte warranty card.

tell me about the cd's which u got from bsnal.. in my case an officer from bsnl came here and installed a software from a cd.. the cd contained many things.. but she told tat she was allowed to copy only some of the folders.. suspicious.. i think they have planted some bug in the device... did u have the same experience..

then what the bloody f@@k was installed in my system by the service personnel??? i copied the same in my system.. it has files named evdo and the like.. the files altogether makes a 31 mb...

Nope, i just got a mini CD, it has drivers and the device documentation. No more additional discs.

may be the software installed by the service man was used to limit the speed for the time being.. anyways i will use the device in my lap without installin the other prog and will let u know thw result..
