hi roaming will be difficult to establish initially because they are giving cards at much lower security deposit of 1000 Rs. for the card which costs 6500 Rs.

The card costs 3500. I am sure bsnl would have made bulk purchase of the cards at much lesser prices.

On the card price: Have got various prices, some say its 3000 (mostly Kerala and TN), the notice in BSNL office says 6500, while they said its 7000 (claimed the notice is old). As for BSNL, they may have sourced it at around Rs 1000.. like Reliance which claimed the 1st CDMA handset in India is worth 10000 (remember the summer of '02?? lol) while it was lower than 3000.

Interstate roaming: All EVDOs have a unique access name and pwd, which happens to be a telephone number. Mine is 2013xxxx, that is 8 digits (Bangalore) Can someone post their no. of digits, preferably from a smaller town? If it is not 8 digits, then we are not gonna have roaming (inter-exchange connectivity is impossible with two devices on two numbering system). At the same time, officials in BSNL claimed that they will have S.India roaming in 3 months??

Mine is only 7 digits 230****,using it at Trivandrum in Kerala

Hi guys, i spoke with an SDE @ BSNL office recently who confirmed that Roaming is still not activated for all the EVDO users in INDIA it might take some more time to get activated...."Slowly But Surely" ...LOL

Either it is fully covered in Tamil Nadu.. roaming in tn is possible.. i am in virudu nagar dist they told down side of tn ie trichy to kanyakumari only you can get.. is it true kindly any one clarify me.. tnku

i got the connection in palayamkottai. while roaming i access in salem and coimbatore.Other places i have not tried it

Is it possible to use EVDO ,in BSNL network where WLL is enabled?

When I was at whitefield today getting the device reconfigured I talked to one of the engineers about roaming and what he said is that they're hoping to get roaming within the 4 southern states (Kerala, Karnataka, AP and Tamil Nadu) within 9 to 10 months.
