RE: Roaming
Well every body is waiting of EVDO Roaming facility to begin. One of my friend who is Working as junior telecom officers at BSNL told me BSNL is undergoing some meetings for cdma and evdo , which is finally going to result in nation wide roaming.
Further he explained that currently the Tarang network is of limited mobility type, that is mobility for more than 20 km from the point of installation is not allowed( theoretical). Hence all tarang cells and even data cards (nic and evdo both) have the phone number series of 7 nos starting from 2. eg 2001296. Now what bsnl is planning is the conversion of this limited mobility survice to a full fledged mobile network such as tataindicom cdma or reliance cdma. Then our numbers will change from 2seriers to 9** series with a 10 digit no. The same thing happned about 3-4 years back with tataindicom coustomers and about 5 -6 years back with reliance coustomers. All of them previously started their services with limited mobility and then gave the full mobility after permission from tri. Madanmohan mishra (NGP ) |
