Unable to connect to Client VPN
Hi All,
I have a IP which i am trying to connect by creating new VPN connection but everytime i try connecting to that IP it throws error no 619 saying Remote computer not responding hence the port is closed. I tried contacting the Tech support team and they say some port needs to be enabled for this purpose from BSNL side... the same set up works fine with other Service provider like Airtel (cable net).. Please advice.. Thanks Gunjan |

RE: Unable to connect to Client VPN
Gunjan,
VPN, Video Conferencing, Torrents - the typical problems of BSNL EVDO due to a closed port, of which we all can do nothing about. Have to bear it. Unfortunately, all of us (say in a given city) share the same IP address, making it almost impossible to create a new connection. I'd suggest you stick to Airtel for it - my colleagues too do the same. Esp if you are on Lotus notes - I assume you need unique IP addresses.. The roads are mine. Everybody else is trespassing. |

RE: Unable to connect to Client VPN
Doesnt your company have guidelines on this? The firms prefer wireless connections (so tht you work 24x7..lol), and some insist on that. Anyways, if a wired connection is fine, i'd suggest Airtel, BSNL, Hathway, Tata. In that order. But plz do check how Tata is in your locality, its quite bad out here.. Reliance - I've seen the ads, but havent heard of users.. lol.

RE: Unable to connect to Client VPN
I do connect using VPN and another mobility client. All works fine....I think you need to check with your company first, just to make sure that the client installable is installing all needed network drivers. Yes, if on the same computer you are able to connect and ping using another ISP, then there is something wrong. What I believe is that sometimes the VPN client may not be able to identify yout evdo connection, which is nornally a dial-up.
Do and ipconfig after you make the connection, and check if you are getting your corporate IP...normally as another network interface.. |

RE: Unable to connect to Client VPN
Thanks,
It's working now but partially, I am able to ping some of the machines using our main vpn point. So I guess this problem is related our vpn configuration, there no problem with EVDO connection. |
