That's strange, I've been able to use the extension cable without any problems.

RE: usb cable extension
Extension cable works for me.
In my room, I usually get 3 bars so what I do is use an extension cable and put my modem outside the window.....voila...now I get 4 bars and it works great for me.... Here is a quickie...if you want to use an extension cable, I would suggest you to use shielded extension cable...should work better than those that come with your printers or digi cams. Catch some computer retailer and ask him to give you SHIELDED USB EXTENSION CABLE (Can cost from Rs. 15 to Rs. 40 depending on your city) Guests cannot see links in the messages. I totally second that. I have not tried the Shielded USB cable though, but the extension cable works just fine for me. |

RE: usb cable extension
I have tried shielded USB cable , but modem does not work with it.
It gives error when you press connect button. I going to try it linux as it is definitely not working in windows. If its a dialer problem then in linux it should work. |

RE: usb cable extension
Some time before I was using EV-DO directly with USB port of PC without cable and at that time I was facing problem of signal failure many times. After reading a post I have been using USB cable which was received with evdo modem and put out it on my table. Now signal problem never arise and working good.
